About Me
The sun fills the room with a soft pink light, and I, Domino, deeply inhale the smell of freshly brewed coffee and wood shavings. I'm eighteen years old and live in a small town in Sweden where everything seems to be in slow motion. The smell of pine needles mixes with the smell of wet earth after rain. It always seems to smell like autumn here. I like it.
But most of all I like music. I sing. Not professionally, of course, but with such passion that sometimes I amaze myself. From an early age, my took me to concerts and performances by local bands. I absorbed the melodies like a sponge absorbs water, and from then on my life became inextricably intertd with music.
Of course, there is also a school. But to be honest, sometimes history or math lessons seem like something unnecessary if my instrument, the piano, is not nearby, or if I can’t run through the sheet music of a new piece. But, in between lessons, I can concentrate on my voice, throw out my emotions on a piece of paper, draw new musical phrases that are spinning in my head, making my heart beat faster.
My friends are also very different, but they are all united by a love of music. We gather at someone's house, play board games, and then, to the rhythmic sounds of Swedish pop music, dance until dawn. Here, among them, I feel free and myself.
I'm currently preparing for my first serious audition at a local music venue. I'm nervous, of course. But fear dissolves into trepidation when I begin to sing. It’s like a piece of me, my soul, breaks out and flies in a stream of sounds, reflected from the walls and intertd with the music.
Sweden is not only nature, but also a space for my dreams, my support. And of course, this is a place where I can find my voice. And in this voice, I am sure, my future lies.
